The following senior-ranked individuals make up the Executive Advisory Council for the Combative Association of Martial Arts (CAMA). In part and as a whole, these key martial arts figures weigh, evaluate and validate the content and practices within our given systems.

This is not a Mixed Martial Arts Organization!

Each Headmaster or Head of Family brings with him/her decades of knowledge, personal and training expertise and individual lineage.

These peers have come together as a collective to bear witness to the strengths and growth of our beloved individual martial practices.

Our Purpose

We serve no greater purpose then the preservation of our collective pool of knowledge. We are here to be searched out and have an open door policy to anyone that is interested in what we have to share.

Thomas Mitose, Soke
10th Dan, 22nd Great Grandmaster Kosho Ryu Kenpo
Mitose Soke’s father was the notable James “Masayoshi” Mitose who is, without a doubt, the father of American Kenpo. J. Mitose, Soke trained such martial art legends as Professor William Chow, Yamaguchi and others. Thomas Mitose, through the last will and testament of his father, inherited the Kosho Shorei Kenpo organization and the rights to all of the organization's books, logos and trademarks. T. Mitose, Soke has trained worldwide and has several Dojos located across the globe. At his father’s untimely passing while James Mitose was incarcerated in California, Thomas was the last person to see him and claimed his father remains. There have been many claims made to the System and the Mitose Linage, when, in fact, in Japanese Martial Arts, blood is the true measure of lineage not senior rank.

Ron F. Pierce, Grandmaster
9th Dan Kajukenbo

Grandmaster Pierce begun his martial arts training in 1957 and was an accomplished young martial artist when he met Sijo Emperado in 1967 through his teacher Robert Rapue. At that time Grandmaster Pierce forged a life long bond with Sijo Emperado and still is engaged with Sijo Emperado on both a personal and professional level. Grandmaster Pierce has also trained and study under Yamaguchi the “Cat man” who trained under T. Mitose, Soke’s Father, the late J. Mitose, Soke. Grandmaster Pierce over the decades has trained and is accomplished in a variety of martial arts but teaches Kajukenbo as his foundation Style.

Ted Tabura, Shihan
8th Dan Lima, Lama / Kajukenbo Grandmaster 9th Dan

Hawaii-born, Ted Tabura, Shihan, has been a martial artist for almost 50 years. He began his training in Hawaii and continued when he moved to the Mainland. Although Okinawa-te/Lima-Lama is his base, Shihan trained in other martial arts including Shaolin 5-Animals, aikido, kendo, Filipino escrima, and more. He gained his reputation as the "Sickle man" for his expertise in the use of the Kama (Japanese farming tool) during his tournament competition years. Tabura is a respected oriental weapons instructor and his style of teaching is a versatile blend of his accumulated knowledge of various arts.
